Bienzobas WAS FOUNDED BY A GROUP OF DOCTORS IN ALMERIA OVER 20 YEARS AGO.
THE COMPANY WAS BORN TO PROVIDE A SERVICE THAT WAS NOT YET AVAILABLE, AND WHICH TODAY IS EXPANDING BOTH IN SPAIN AND INTERNATIONALLY.
Why is it that an idea conceived in a place like Almeria can reach out to the world?
This is the very story of Almeria. Almeria is synonymous with light.
For this reason, it should come as no surprise that the search for clarity and transparency in the management of oncology resources began here over 20 years ago: a balance in patient care between costs and efficiency, based on scientific evidence and in compliance with medical guidelines.
At Bienzobas, we are doctors who treat patients, and we bear the responsibility of managing cancer care in a sustainable way. To put this more simply: something that is beneficial for one patient will also bring benefits for all of us.
This is a simple idea that has been growing for the past 20 years, whilst at the same time there has been a growing sense that health systems must adapt to become more sustainable. This reality has been confirmed by health scholars across the globe. And they call it ‘Value Based Healthcare’.

Dr. Eliseo Garcia, the founder of Bienzobas, was inspired by friendship above all else when naming the new company he had just founded: Bienzobas was the name of his best friend, and oncologist, who had recently passed away.
There is no doubt that, for us all, Bienzobas is the name that inspires us to remember what is really of value in our lives.

OUR TEAM
Our team consists of medical oncologists and radiation oncologists, specialist oncological surgeons, pathologists, pharmacists, psycho-oncologists, biologists, economists, lawyers, and university graduates with careers in nursing (as well as healthcare assistants), engineering and computer science. This is in addition to all the administrative and nursing staff, and many more, all of whom are vital to ensure the operation of more than 40 day hospitals, as well as running offices, manning patient-facing services, and looking after the company’s accounting.

Specialist of Medical Oncology. Over 40 years’ experience in medical oncology treatments. Pioneer in the management of cancer care (Value Based Oncology Care).
Paula García
Country Manager
Co-founder of Bienzobas Health.
Over 20 years working as General Manager and responsible for both generation of new business and operations management, including the creation of the oncology platform. Paula has an in-depth knowledge of the medical oncology market.
Roberto Lapieza
CCO
Over 20 years’ experience in re-insurance, direct insurance and health management. Roberto has worked as Corporate Business Manager at the most prestigious hospital group in Spain (CUN), developing their business strategy both nationally and internationally across more than 12 countries.
Luis Duran
CIO
More than 15 years’ experience as a Systems Engineer working in various different sectors, but with a major focus on the health sector, the impact of digital transformation, and development of businesses and teams. Luis headed up two technological start-ups whilst at the same time spearheading the digital transformation of one of the largest national health groups, Vithas Salud.
José Luis Alonso

With a vast amount of financial experience, José Luis has been working in medical and radiation oncology for over 20 years. He has extensive experience in investment modelling, investment funds and multinationals. (IMOncology & GenesisCare).
Leading transformation and development of financial teams.
Jorge Barios
Chief Operations and Development Officer
Over 15 years working in consulting firms and health companies. Experience in private health (Sanitas, HM Hospitales), in Pharmaceuticals (IQVIA) and in finance.
M&A specialist at Atlas Capital (Currently DC Advisory) taking part in several deals with main focus on Healthcare Industry.
